John 1:14 and 1John 1:1-3 tell us that that the WORD ie Jesus was made
flesh and dwelt among us.
His life or existence was seen in our physical
world for he dwelt among us and had like passions as we do.
He was seen
and witnessed of men.
Philippians 2:5-8 tells us that he was equal with God but became a man
and was obedient to death.
1John 3:8 says that Jesus came to destroy the
works of the devil.
Matthew 18:11 says he came to save that which was lost
ie you and I.
Matthew 20:28 says he came to give his life as a ransom for
many.
John 3:17 says that Jesus came to save the world.
From what? Death
spiritual death which is total separation from God.
Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God
Isaiah 53:3-6 says that like sheep we all gone astray.
What a predictament
we find ourselves in.Why has everyone gone astray?.
Why has everyone missed
the glory of God? SIN!
Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death.
But we
need life. How do we get it?
By entering into a covenant with God to give
us life.
Jesus is the testator. The word testator comes from the greek word
diatheke (Strong's GK 1242) meaning "Covenant".
Hebrews 10:29 and 12:24 says
that the new testament (of life with God) requires that the testator (Jesus)
die.
Where there is a covenant blood is required.
Jesus as testator had
to shed blood while being a willing and obedient sacrifice.
His sacrifice
was our ransom.
This was the only way we could have an entrance into a new
covenant of life with God.
Life is in the blood as Leveticus 17:11 shows.
The blood on the altar ransoms our soul.
