That is our heritage now, through Jesus Christ. This is great news!
The character and ways of God are revealed through His Son, see Heb 1:2.
And as we draw close to JESUS in real relationship, that's relationship, I
said relationship, the word is relationship :), and grow in the Lord, we
come to know His ways, experience His ways, and come to know His voice.
Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice." This is a promise of wonderfully
deepening relationship with our Creator. What is on your mind and heart you
can share with JESUS and expect Him to answer you. With words YOU can hear
in your heart. And the Holy Spirit will tell you of things to come, see
John 16:13.
The Holy Spirit may use a dream or a vision to tell you of the future, to
let you know that God has got things covered. He's been there ahead of you.
BUT- so can evil spirits use dreams to get you off the track of pursuing
Jesus and instead pursuing mystical things. The fact that your family has
been involved leads me to suggest that a 'familiar spirit' may be at work
within the household, of divination or witchcraft. Although you yourself
may not personally have dealt in such practices, someone could have before
you,and now the spirit is a part of the family.
How to find out? Ask JESUS! Pray! Ask Him to reveal the source of this
information. A general guide, does it glorify Jesus, point to Jesus? Or is
it mystical stuff leading you to conclude you have powers other mortals
lack?
I suggest, that assuming it is demonic, renounce it! Declare you have a new
family, a new blood-line and refuse to have anything to do with such stuff.
Use the name of Jesus in your rejection of this spirit and its influence.
Command them to depart from you. Expect results. There are no nice devils,
and none who just do little things like give humans a little info about the
future without the desire to suck you into their darkness. Run from
invlolvement with them like you were running from hell itself!
You may think, "But if I do all that, then I won't have those dreams
anymore and I'll be missing something." That is a sure sign devils have
been involved. Appealing to your pride. JESUS is everything you need,and
will reveal everything you need to know about the future as you need to
know it. :)
I have had no small encounters with devils
here and in other countries and they are bad stuff. But you have the
authority of a believer in Christ JESUS, so kick them out of your life, and
then your family's as well, if they can receive it.
