We are always in the battle as we are on the Lord's side.

Seven Things

(1) Obedience v19

v8 Holy Spirit is our teacher and guide

Shows us the way to go in the battle
We must be prepared to do God's will

v9 Stubborness is as the sin of witchcraft

Self willed and fleshly
Stiff necked Acts 7:51

(2) Power v20

Joel 2:7-11
v7 Shall not break rank
v8 Everyone shall walk in his path i.e. their assigned ministry
v9 Shall run = strength and speed
v11 God's voice goes before his army

He orders his troops
- go here, do this...
- He decrees the victory

(3) Willingness v21

Zechariah 10:3-6
v3 We are the flock today
v4 Jesus came out of the tribe of Judah and is the cornerstone
v6 Strengthened us and set us in our place

Promises to hear us i.e. our prayers

(4) Courage v22

Psalm 27:14

Wait on God's timing for - ministry, attack, strategy, solution
He will give us strength to overcome - Caleb "We are well able"

(5) Arms v23

We have two weapons of offence for one of defence

We are to take ground not just defend it

Nehemiah 4:17

Rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem
War and build at the same time
Be armed against the attacking enemy

Weapons

Holiness
Glory
Obedience
Word of God (logos and rhema)

(6) Faith v24

Believing that we can overcome
We can only please God by faith

Joy through what God is doing
Joy in anticipation of victory.
